The Centre offers hands-on training in video production, audio and radio broadcasting, podcasting, editing and post-production, social media content creation, and media literacy for youth, equipping participants with practical skills to create, share, and critically engage with media across multiple platforms.
Journalism & Local News Training
The Centre’s community journalism initiative focuses on developing reporting and interview skills, research and fact-checking, ethical practices and accuracy, and the creation of meaningful community news stories, empowering participants to produce reliable and impactful journalism that reflects local voices and issues.
Critical Thinking and Media Literacy Training
The Centre offers workshops and courses that teach participants to understand media bias, identify misinformation, practice digital safety and online responsibility, and apply critical thinking and content verification skills, equipping them to navigate the media landscape thoughtfully and responsibly.
Media Arts & Creative Production Lab
Participants have access to professional equipment and facilities, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear, fully equipped editing suites, a TV studio, and a radio and podcast studio, providing the tools needed to produce high-quality media content.
Indigenous & Ethnocultural Storytelling
The Centre’s projects encompass Indigenous language programming, cultural documentaries, oral history initiatives, and diaspora storytelling series, creating platforms that celebrate diverse voices, preserve heritage, and share the rich stories of communities across Canada.
Diverse Languages Journalism
The Centre’s journalism programming embraces Canada’s linguistic diversity by producing content in multiple languages, including Indigenous, ethnocultural, and minority community languages.
